YANKS Monthly lunch, This Sunday, April 19th

This Sunday, April 19th, we'll be having Sunday brunch at the world-famous Knick restaurant overlooking Lake Michigan. The Knick, which is a few walkable blocks from church, has some delectable dishes both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. The brunching begins after the 11 o'clock service. Plan to meet in the Leenhouts Common Room. We'll aim to depart about 15 minutes after the service ends. During brunch, we'll be talking about all the wonderful stuff we're going to do in the next few months. So come one YANK come all, and let's brunch.

Milwaukee Bucks: Wednesday April 8th

The YANKS group is attending the Milwaukee Bucks basketball game on Wednesday, April 8th. Thanks to one of our members, we have an opportunity to purchase lower level tickets for $20 a piece. March 22: "Games and Pizza with GamesMeister Craig" (Combined YANKS Lunch and Game Day)

Young Adults in Need of Kindred Spirits is moving its March lunch gathering from the third Sunday of the month to the fourth, due to First Church's Celebration Sunday falling on the third Sunday of March.



This month's lunch event will be Sunday March 22, and instead of heading to a local restaurant, we will be meeting in Max Otto Hall of First Church from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., for an afternoon of games! The Rev. Craig Schwalenberg, assistant minister of First Church, will be hosting the gathering, and has dubbed it "Games and Pizza with GamesMeister Craig." There will be pizza, soda, and juice available. Come one, come all!

February 21st- YANKS is going to see "The Adventures of Captain Neato-Man"

YANKS will be going to see "The Adventures of Captain Neato-Man" staring our very own church and fellow YANKS member, Clarence Aumend.

The show will be held at Walkers Point Center for the Arts, on Saturday Feb. 21st at 8:00 pm. The address is 911 West National, Milwaukee. There is no reserved seating, so YANKS will be meeting a half hour before the performance begins.

Buca's is an Italian restaurant located at 1233 N. Van Buren St., and, as always, is walking distance from the church. We're organizing another social lunch on the third Sunday of this month after the 11 a.m. service. This lunch meeting will be at 12:30 in the Sutra Lounge at Karma Bar and Grill on Dec. 21. Karma is located at 600 E. Ogden and is walking distance from First Unitarian Society of Milwaukee! This lunch is a great opportunity for new members to join our group and for us to take an hour to socialize with fellow Y.A.N.K.S. members. Y.A.N.K.S Monthly Lunch Meeting

Greetings blog readers! We at Y.A.N.K.S. apologize for the long delay between the last post and this post. We had some re-organization of leadership followed by technical dificulties, and it got in the way of updating the blog. But we're back! Check in soon for photos of our activities from the end of summer and beginning of fall. But for now...

The Y.A.N.K.S group has organized a social lunch for the third Sunday of each month after the 11:00 a.m. service. This month the lunch will be at Maharaja Restaurant on Nov. 16, at 12:30.


Maharaja Restaurant is a Indian restaurant at 1550 N Farwell, and is walking distance from First Unitarian Society of Milwaukee! This restaurant is well-known for its lunch buffet, and has many vegetarian selections. The lunch could serve as a great opportunity for new members to join our group and for us to take an hour to socialize with fellow Y.A.N.K.S. members. We will meet in the hallway of First Church following the 11:00 AM service.
